Portmaster program explanation
The standout feature brings all the functionality of this app together. It’s the new “Side-Dash”; you can now easily swipe between apps to check their connections or quickly jump into their settings. Monitoring your PC and configuring your personal preferences has become a breeze.
It’s a product that’s always maturing; the rebranding phase of development has been coming for a long time. But as I wrote in January, I didn’t feel like we had the feature set to properly update it. Now — the introduction of Side Dash has given us the glue we needed between all the existing features to make it feel connected, marking a new chapter.
It keeps tabs on your local computer’s network traffic on a per-app basis. This makes it easier for regular users to see how installed apps are working and blocks things like ads, trackers, and malware. Better yet, it has a very user-friendly interface and an installation wizard that makes it easy for anyone to use.
